Do you consider yourself a purveyor of unique custom motorcycles? This bike would be right up your alley. You might ask, “What in the world is that thing?” We thought the same thing, too. Apparently, this fascinating motorcycle-shaped contraption is a 2008 Vyrus 984 C3 2V.

For the unfamiliar, Vyrus is an exclusive Italian motorcycle manufacturer. Each of its bikes are built to order, so no two Vyrus machines are exactly the same.

The 984 C3 2V is powered by a 1,079cc air-cooled L-twin engine that is sourced from Ducati. Peak power is in the 100hp range, and letting those Italian ponies sing is a Zard exhaust system with carbon fiber mufflers. A six-speed gearbox takes care of shifting, and is aided by a TransLogic quickshifter and an APTC slipper clutch.

Suspension is rather unique, as evidenced by the photos. Up front is a swingarm with push/pull linkage instead of a conventional telescopic fork. Thanks to the bike’s hub-centric steering design, steering, suspension, and braking are all handled by the odd front end setup. At the rear is an aluminum swingarm equipped with FG Gubellini suspension bits, same as the shock up front.

Forged Marvic Assen magnesium wheels are covered in Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa rubber, while stopping power comes courtesy of Brembo calipers and master cylinders with braided carbon lines. Mounted in front of the sportbike-style aluminum clip-on handlebars is an Auto Meter Pro-Cycle tachometer with programmable shift light, digital speedometer, neutral gear indicator, and other necessary info. Current odometer reading is at 1,900mi, or 3,058km.

This particular model has been named Razzetto, which is an informal Italian word for ‘little rocket. The winning bid for the bike is a cool $45,000, or about P2,300,000. Would you be brave enough to ride this cyberpunk art piece out on the road?
