Last week, we asked our rider-readers where they usually take a break mid-journey and freshen up.
After all, long bike trips can leave us all sticky and sweaty. You can splash water on your face or change into something dry, but you’ll want to do it somewhere clean and that doesn’t smell.
At the top of the list of recommendations are Shell gas stations.
Juan Fidel Rodriguez: “Shell SLEX Northbound Mamplasan has aircon, sounds, air freshener, and good lighting.”
Raniel Ibanez: “Shell San Fernando, Pampanga. May P10 bayad nga lang, pero pwede mong gamitin yung coupon sa Select store nila. Sulit mag-stay sa loob, naka-aircon pa.”
Jickson Lloyd Hsu: “Shell Dumaguete City. Very clean (and has a) well-furnished interior.”
Kelly Lucenara Ouano Secretario: “Almost all Shell stations in Cebu.”
CJ Alcoy: “Shell Tagaytay, sa harap ng nagsarang Sinangag Express.”
Alain de Leon: “Shell Katipunan, going to White Plains.”
JI Ibañez: “Shell Catbalogan.”
Neth Soriano: “Shell Daang Hari.”
Ace Vargas: “Shell Edison, Makati City.”
Clean Fuel lives up to its name and comes in a close second.
Jhon Nerio Abad: “Clean Fuel sa Lemery, may bidet at aircon.”
Nicole Gianmari: “Clean Fuel Rosario, La Union is air-conditioned. Mas malinis pa sa bahay niyo, pwedeng-pwede ka nang matulog, ha ha!”
Apparently, Petron facilities are also well-maintained.
Ron Cabellon: “Petron Stations in Davao City. Very clean and sanitized.”
Charlston B. Requiez: “Petron Campetic in Palo, Leyte. May shower pa and parang mamahalin ang style ng comfort room.”
Kenjie Mendoza: “Petron SLEX Southbound, after San Pedro Exit.”
Some riders either vouched for other gas stations or have more than one go-to pit stops.
Jay R Apilado Marcella: “Centrum Fuel sa Pangasinan at Ilocos.”
Emman Noel Tibayan: “Flying V, sa tapat ng Nissin sa may Balibago Sta. Rosa, Laguna.”
Gado De Borja David: “All Phoenix stations.”
Gabriel Flores: “PTT the best sa linis.”
Joselito Soto Lasin Jr.: “Shell Malolos and PTT TPLEX.
Ely Enriquez: “Petron NLEX Lakeshore Mexico, Pampanga and PTT SCTEX Concepcion, Tarlac.”
Omar Lazarte: “Kapag southbound kayo papuntang San Juan, Batangas via Ibaan Exit, try niyo sa Cafe Mina. Malinis at malaki ang parking area with carwash.”
Richard Sagpao: “Lakeshore NLEX Northbound, sa likod na CR. Although usually maaga kami dumadaan kaya konti pa tao.”
Mai Aydinan: “There’s this station near the C5 South Exit. May bidet para sa mga (magna-number two). Ang bango at may artwork pa. Super sosy.”
