‘Kuya Kim’ Atienza has added to his already impressive collection of motorbikes, according to his latest motovlog.
Atienza recently introduced his newly acquired Ducati Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak, which he swapped for his Honda CB1100 with fellow EuroMonkeys member Bai Reg Burila.
The name of the model is derived from the highest summit of the southern part of the Front Range at the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. The 4,300-meter mountain is the setting for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, which is 20km long.
In his vlog, Kuya Kim mentioned four-time Pikes Peak winner Carlin Dunne, who holds the speed record, as part of his obligatory trivia: “Namatay si Carlin Dunne nung 2019 sa isang crash malapit na sa finish line. Ito’y lubos na kinalungkot ng motorcycle world. Dahil dito, ang Ducati ay hindi na gagawa pa ng kahit na anong Multistrada na Pikes Peak edition.”
As for Atienza’s new ride, this particular Multistrada was presented in Milan at World Ducati Premiere 2016. The hybrid supermoto/ sport tourer comes with a fully adjustable Ohlins fork suspension and a premium-quality TTX36 rear shock.
The Ducati Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak is also equipped with carbon-fiber componentry—making it lighter than the regular Multistrada—and a full-system Termignoni exhaust.
