Looking for your next long ride destination once travel restrictions ease up? If long roads, breathtaking sights, and good food sound like a good time to you, then Mindanao deserves a spot high up on your list.
Not convinced just yet? Join our vlogger Marlon on his long ride video series entitled Adta na ta! (Tara na!) Ride ta Mindanao (Ride sa Mindanao). In this four-part Mindanao ride series, Marlon brings us along on his over 280km-long adventure from Davao City to Cagayan de Oro.
The series begins by showing us how long rides typically start: With a pre-ride prayer and briefing. This huddle is crucial, as the route, stopovers, emergency plans, and other ride-essential info will be discussed in detail. It’s very important that riders always pay attention to the briefing, as getting lost or separated from your riding group is a very inconvenient experience.
Joining our rider on this adventure is Norminring Motorbikes president and CEO Jondi R. Lacson. Lacson rides a Ducati Multistrada V4 S, no doubt a very fun choice for adventure-touring use with its 170hp V4 engine, impressive tech features, and more. Marlon’s trusty steed for this ride, meanwhile, is a 790 Adventure R. This potent and capable middleweight adventure bike from KTM is powered by a 799cc parallel-twin with 95hp on tap complemented by a suite of rider aids and off-road bits.
Starting from the Norminring Motorbikes dealership in Davao, Marlon’s riding group rides through city roads and provincial highways towards the first stopover.
Check out the start of Marlon’s adventure in the first episode here, and keep an eye out for Episode Two, where we get a look at the group’s first stopover and some scenic routes and tourist spots.
