The third episode of our Mindanao ride adventure Adto na ta! sees our vlogger Marlon linking up with one of Mindanao’s riding groups: the Kagay Anon-Krusers. While having a socially distanced breakfast outside a fast food establishment, the group’s vice president for externals Leo Boyd Casiño gives Marlon a quick set of tips and things to remember before setting out on a long ride.
Casiño advises that before departing, you should make sure your bike is good to go—brakes are topped off on fluid and are in good working order; tires are in good shape; and the headlights, taillights, and brake lights are bright and functional.
As for health and safety during the quarantine, Casiño shares that riding in Mindanao is quite safe and easy even during the ongoing pandemic, so long as riders still observe social distancing and other required health protocols.
One rider jokes that documents and other requirements aren’t really necessary to ride, just enough cash to get you through your journey. Things may have changed with recent developments, however, so we’d still advise riders to check for essential papers or passes before going anywhere far these days.
After sharing food and coffee while admiring their rides, the riders gear up and get ready to go. They depart one by one on their steeds, off to continue their morning ride adventure elsewhere.
Join us next time as Marlon shows us a rider’s point of view of riding with a motorcycle club and the ever-important tambikes session.
