With quarantine policies in several parts of the country easing up, local government units have started opening their doors to motorists and travelers.
This is the reason why inquiries about the Philippine Loop have started pouring in, not only at the office of Adventure Team Philippines (ATPI) in Makati City, but also here at Top Bikes Philippines after we relased a story about an accomplished Looper.
Since January this year, 109 participants have completed the designated routes in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Before the ongoing pandemic wrought havoc worldwide, certified Loopers averaged 300 per year.
Interesting in joining? Here are the Philippine Loop adventure requirements and steps to register, as per ATPI:
1) Participants must register.
Participants must proceed to the ATPI headquarters to fill up the proper registration forms. For those residing in far-flung areas, you may register online or download the application form from the Philippine Loop Facebook page.
2) Submit the requirements.
The following requirements must be submitted to ATPI via email:
- Photocopies of the participant’s driver’s license and the original receipt/certificate of registration of his or her motorcycle.
- A copy of the itinerary.
- Photos of the motorcycle (front and back).
3) Pay the P2,500 registration fee.
For this, participants get two Philippine Loop T-shirts, two stickers, a passport, and a map. A Philippine Loop vest is also available, but for an added cost of P600. The participants have one year to validate their travels through the passport issued to them by taking selfies at designated tourist destinations and landmarks.
You should complete the tour within a year—with a maximum of 20 days of combined riding in the different parts of the country—before you get a certificate of completion. There have been Loopers who have accomplished the entire thing in just nine days.
Are you ready for the ride of your life?
