Do you love coffee as much as riding? For your next breakfast ride to Pampanga, you might want to drop by this roadside coffee stand to get your caffeine fix.
Last December, siblings Johndoe and Kim Martin Gallegos and their cousin Bill Lawrence Estacio set up shop along Candaba Road and the province’s rice fields. Coffee Bros’ clientele included motorcycle and bicycle riders, as well as those who pass by the area after jogging and Zumba sessions.
According to Johndoe, it took a while before they hit their stride: “Una, nag-start kami, sinubukan namin instant coffee lang. Pag instant, aalis sila. Hinahanap nila yung brewed coffee talaga.”
After doing some research about the brewing method and joining online groups like Coffee Lovers Philippines, the trio bought a French press and a manual grinder. They source their coffee beans from Kalinga, Sagada, Benguet, Batangas, and even Mindanao (Mount Apo, Kalamansig).
From an initial investment of P900, Coffee Bros now sells 60 to 100 cups a day (P30 each) during weekends, from 5am to 9pm.
