Sarah Lahbati can now heave a sigh of relief after she secured her student permit on Tuesday.
Coach Sam Tamayo of Mx Messiah Fairgrounds Academy shared to Top Bikes Philippines how the actress-model felt upon receiving one of the requirements for driver’s license application. He said: “She is stoked! She waited long, ha ha! She wants to ride out with Richard kasi... But without license di pwede.”
Tamayo confirmed that Lahbati completed both the eight-hour motorcycle practical riding course and 15-hour theoretical driving course.
They managed with blended classes (face-to-face and online) due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and were able to finish the lectures and exams before the enhanced community quarantine was recently declared again. Then, she had to wait for one-and-a-half months to finish her rider training and for the LTO branches to reopen.
Lahbati is currently training with her husband Richard Gutierrez on four wheels while waiting 30 days to get her non-professional driver’s license with Restrictions 1 (motorcycles, tricycles) and 2 (car, SUV, pickup or any other vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of 4,500kg).
According to Tamayo, the celebrity mother will still continue her training even after acquiring her license. “We are scheduled to do trail soon.”
In a previous post, Tamayo raved about Lahbati being a natural: “Sarah was learning fast and blitzing through each ‘module of instruction.’ And we were very proud. Only earlier during her third session when she mentioned she needed a driver’s license that I realized her knowledge/skills regarding motorcycles was literally zero!”
Meanwhile, Tamayo also welcomed back Gutierrez, an experienced adventure tourer rider who is “getting solid with the basics of dirt biking,” and praised Zion for keeping up with Mom and Dad.
