On his YouTube channel, the actor recently uploaded a vlog on how he got the badass white big bike. He visited Wheeltek Suzuki with riding coach Sam Tamayo of Mx Messiah Fairgrounds to decide between the Glass Sparkle Black and Pearl White color schemes of the new Hayabusa.
Lim’s love for the sportbike can be traced back to his teenage years in the US. He recalled, “Ang solid ng Hayabusa. Kasi parang ever since I was living in San Francisco, nakikita ko na to sa highway. And I always told myself na one of these days I want to acquire a bike like this. Nakakatuwa lang.”
No wonder when his dream bike was actually in front of him, he had a hard time making up his mind. Lim even had to bring in reinforcements—actress Dimples Romana and her husband Boyet—to help him pick a color.
“Ang hirap talaga mag-decide. Maganda yung puti, to be completely honest,” he said. “The black also...elegante sila pareho. They both look beautiful. So, tignan natin yung magiging final decision.”
Of course, the celebrity rider couldn’t choose without consulting with his longtime girlfriend and favorite angkas partner Kim Chiu first.
Chiu can be heard over the phone saying, “(Lim: Anong mas gusto mo?) The color white. (Sige, sige.) Are you going to buy? (No, I’m just checking.) Grabe, how much is that?”
Lim deflected the question, but if she’s really curious, the 2022 Hayabusa is priced at P1,088,000, according to the Suzuki Motorcycles Philippines website. The sportbike runs on a 1,340cc DOHC liquid-cooled engine, which pumps out 197hp at 9,800rpm and 150Nm of torque at 7,000rpm.
