Actor-director Zoren Legaspi is officially a member of the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG).
The celebrity rider shared the news in a recent episode of Sarap, ’Di Ba? Bahay Edition, which is hosted by his wife Carmina Villaroel and their twins Mavy and Cassy Legaspi. On their way to a quick getaway in Batangas, he can be seen escorting the family while riding his BMW R1250 GS.
“Akala nila peke ito. Pinaghirapan ko ito, hon.” Legaspi told Villaroel, who congratulated him for this new responsibility. “Nakita mo naman mabait ako mag-motor ‘di ba?”
He further explained, “’Yung mga civilian, hindi basta-basta nakaka-penetrate doon, so mga selected civilian lang ‘yung maaari. Ako ang isa sa mga lucky civilians na napasama sa grupo kaya pinaghirapan ko ito.”
On Instagram, Legaspi has uploaded training photos from what looks like the PNP-HPG training facility in Camp Karingal, Quezon City.
According to the Official Gazette, the PNP-HPG “enforces the traffic laws and regulations, promote safety along the highways, enhances traffic safety consciousness through inter-agency cooperation concerning Police Traffic Safety Engineering, Traffic Safety Education and Traffic Law enforcement functions and develops reforms in the crime prevention aspect against all forms of lawlessness committed along National Highway involving the use of motor vehicles.”
