The much-anticipated 2020 Yamaha NMax has finally found its way into Yamaha showrooms following its official online launch recently.
Powered by a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve, single-cylinder, fuel-injected 155cc engine, the new NMax was the first product to be unveiled at the ‘Yamaha Rev Stadium’ using digital platforms. There are currently two variants of the 2020 NMax: Standard and ABS.
Using the exclusive Yamaha BlueCore technology with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), the NMax’s smooth operating, Euro-4 compliant mill generates 15.1hp at 8,000 rpm and 19Nm at 6,500 rpm.
Among the new features of the NMax are the sleek six-bulb LED headlight design that constitutes four lights on the top row for low beam, and two lights below for high beam; and a stylish LED rear taillight that shows three-dimensional illumination.
It also uses a smart key system (keyless entry), a bigger multi-function LCD display with speedometer, fuel level indicator, clock, and fuel economy data.
For additional convenience, the new NMax has a USB power socket inside the left-hand storage pocket for charging electronic devices. Meanwhile, the right-hand side pocket offers storage space with a waterproof lid that can accommodate a smartphone or small tablet.
The stopping needs of both variants are provided by the front and rear disc brakes, although just one of them is equipped with ABS. Tiny switch controls on the handlebar allow the rider to select the data on the LCD display. Known for its superb riding comfort, the NMax has a two-level seat design that provides abundant space both for the rider and passenger.
Having a 23.3L storage capacity, the under-seat compartment can take an XL-size full-face helmet with extra room for personal items.
The 2020 Yamaha NMax Standard and ABS variants are priced at P119,900 and P134,500, respectively. And these are the available color combinations for the two variants: Standard—Phantom Blue, Midnight Black, Matte Red, and Tech Camo; and ABS—Midnight Black, Matte Red, and Tech Camo.
