If Honda’s CB1000R looks a little plain to you, then this collaboration between the Hamamatsu brand and 5Four Motorcycles might be more your style. The CB1000R 5Four is the follow up to the 54-unit limited run of CB1100RS that was given the magic touch by renowned motorcycle builder Guy Willison.
The 2021 iteration of Honda’s flagship naked bike caught Willison’s attention with its subtle redesign that further adds to its ‘Neo Sports Cafe’ appeal. The bike builder went over the bike from end to end, transforming its base form into the endurance racer-inspired machine you see here.
Starting from the back, the 5Four’s tail is as clean as can be. Thanks to a new slim LED taillight, the plate bracket can be mounted as high up as possible, exposing more of the rear tire and minimizing the amount of clutter. The custom tail tidy kit allows for either a seven-inch by five-inch show plate or a standard number plate.
Moving to the saddle, the CB1000R receives a hand-stitched diamond-pattern leather seat with a laser-etched 5Four logo. Hand-painted on the tank is a retro version of Honda’s iconic wing logo, which matches well with the bike’s candy red, blue, and pearl white custom paint job.
On the bars, you will find LSL adjustable dog-leg brake and clutch levers, as well as LSL side mirrors. There is also a custom-made composite headlight fairing that bears a limited-edition 5Four badge. The fairing is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, as Willison says that it offers “some respite from the elements for the rider.”
Letting the 998cc in-line-four cylinder engine sing is a Racefit titanium Growler-X exhaust with laser-etched 5Four and Racefit logos. The quickshifter option coming standard on each of the 5Four-built machines results in smoother shifts.
Each unit will come with a signed certificate of authenticity, individual numbering, and the option to have Guy Willison’s signature painted onto the tailpiece.
For £16,954, or around P1.18 million, you can acquire one of these love letters to retro racing from official Honda dealers in the UK.
