For those who didn’t get their hands on the ultra-exclusive KTM 890 Adventure R Rally, the Austrian manufacturer just launched a couple more off-road and supermoto options in the 2021 690 Enduro R and 690 SMC R.
Both bikes not only received a new ABS modulator, but they’re also powered by the LC4 engine, which KTM once called “the most powerful production single-cylinder available.”
KTM product manager Joachim Sauer explained, “The LC4 has been a powerful component of the KTM 690 Enduro R and KTM 690 SMC R but we’ve still been able to harness that asset and continue to develop both motorcycles to be a special part of our KTM portfolio.”
The 690 Enduro R is an off-road model that can also handle the streets. The dual-sport motorcycle is equipped with cornering ABS, off-road ABS, traction control, motor-slip regulation, and WP Xplor suspension. Output sits at 74hp and 73.5Nm of torque.
Armed with a chrome-molybdenum steel tubing chassis, WP Apex suspension, supermoto ergonomics, and electronic ABS modes, the 690 SMC R MY combines sporty performance with practicality. It also has the newest version of the Brembo M 4.32 monoblock caliper, as well 320mm front and 240mm rear discs to round off its braking setup.
Sauer added, “We’ve found ways to give riders a more exciting and upgraded package for 2021 that keep the bikes as references in their segment. They are unique in their own special ways and we want to keep making them as essential as they are exhilarating.”
The 690 Enduro R and 690 SMC R will be available abroad starting January 2021.
