After six months of delay, a Yamaha dealership in Mindanao has announced that it’s now accepting reservations for the 2021 Tenere 700. This midsize adventure bike has gained positive reviews for being a lean, lightweight, strategically priced off-road machine
The Tenere 700 is powered by a 689cc, parallell-twin CP2 engine derived from the award-winning MT-07 naked streetfighter. This mill is mated to a six-speed manual transmission which shifts gears using a heavy-duty, cable-actuated clutch system.
Suspension duties here are taken care of by a pair of Kayaba fully adjustable USD forks in the front and rear with 8.3in and 7.9in of travel, respectively. Designed to take beatings from rugged roads, the Tenere 700 rolls on 21- and 18-inch spoked wheels fitted to a pair of Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires.
The Tenere 700’s stopping power comes from a pair of wave-style 282mm front discs, while the rear braking is handled by a 245mm rotor. Both are fitted with switchable ABS. This adventure bike boasts 9.5in of ground clearance and a 34.4-inch seat height. Tipping the scales at 205kg, it is considered one of the lightest in the adventure bike category.
The Yamaha Tenere 700 will retail for P619,000. Interested buyers can place a minimum reservation fee of P10,000, with units set to arrive before the end of this month.
