The Africa Twin stands at the pinnacle of Honda’s adventure bike line. The iconic motorcycle has gone through several iterations over the years, with the 2022 model year really something to look forward to.
For 2022, Honda hasn’t totally revamped its Africa Twin platform, but instead opted to give the big adventure bike several tweaks and improvements to make it a better all-around unit for more touring duties.
Revised settings for the DCT version of the bike means smoother handling in the first two gears, particularly in low speed situations and from a standing start.
Since most riders will be carrying luggage on the Africa Twin anyway, Honda has made it easier to attach cargo to the bike with an aluminum rack that now comes as stock.
For the Adventure Sports trim level, a new adjustable windscreen has been introduced that is significantly lower than the outgoing model’s screen, but offers a similar amount of protection with even greater visibility.
Both the standard and Adventure Sports models are decked out with striking decals featuring larger logos, ‘Cracked Terrain’ graphics, and painted subframes and side covers.
Save for these additions, Honda’s flagship adventure bike remains mostly unchanged. At its heart is a 1084cc parallel-twin engine mated to your choice of a six-speed manual or DCT automatic gearbox.
Pricing for the 2022 Africa Twin has yet to be announced, but with how subtle the updates are, we wouldn’t expect too much of a price hike over the previous model.
