It seems Suzuki has been on a roll lately when it comes to updating its bike lineup. First, the V-Strom 1050 got a ’80s DR Big-inspired design update in addition to a Euro 5-compliant engine and more features. After that, the iconic Hayabusa sport tourer got a quickshifter, better acceleration, Suzuki’s Intelligent Ride System, and more.
If its YouTube channel is any indication, the Hamamatsu-based manufacturer has the GSX-S1000 up next on its list of bikes to be updated. At just 17 seconds long, the video entitled ‘The Beauty of Naked Aggression’ manages to show us some interesting details.
First of these details is the totally new headlight with vertically arranged hexagonal bulbs, sharp new body styling, and of course, the presence of aerodynamic winglets on either side of the motorcycle. Technical details on the new GSX-S1000 are yet to be released, and will likely be divulged by Suzuki on April 26th, when the new naked liter bike is “ready to strike.”
We could make a couple of educated guesses on the matter, though. If the recent bike updates and the Katana are anything to go by, the Suzuki GSX-S1000 is likely to get a new TFT dash, a Euro 5-compliant engine, and an updated electronics package with features like cornering ABS and traction control.
Excited to see what this new iteration of the GSX-R1000-based supernaked has to offer? So are we, but with the launch still over 20 days away, we’ll have to make do with rewatching the short teaser. Check it out for yourself:
