The wait is finally over for Triumph’s latest adventure bike and greatest one yet: the Tiger 1200. Designed to be the world’s most agile, maneuverable, and capable large-displacement adventuring machine, the new Tiger promises exciting performance on and off road.
At its heart is a new 1,160cc triple-cylinder engine that makes 148hp at 9,000rpm and 130Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. This powerplant gets an uneven firing order for a distinct soundtrack and a revised shaft drive that’s lightweight and low maintenance.
The updated Showa semi-active suspension setup provides dynamic damping abilities; Brembo Stylema brakes allow for excellent stopping power; and a new lightweight chassis with revised ergonomics makes the bike easier to handle.
The extensive feature list includes cornering traction control linked to the IMU, cornering ABS, six riding modes, a 7-inch TFT instrument screen, keyless ignition, steering lock, fuel cap, and My Triumph connectivity.
Higher trim levels like GT Pro and Rally Pro come with niceties like adaptive cornering lights, Triumph Shift Assist, and Hill hold. The Explorer trim levels increase fuel capacity from 20-30l, and add the Triumph Blind Spot Radar System, heated grips and seats, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Pricing starts at £14,600, or about P975,000 for the Tiger 1200 GT. Units will be available globally starting Spring 2022, while Philippine market units will arrive in April next year. Stay tuned for local pricing.
