Recently, Olympic silver medalist Carlo Paalam received his Yamaha YZF-R6 courtesy of Motortrade Nationwide Corporation. Any rider would be over the moon after upgrading to their dream bike, but Paalam even got more than congratulatory messages and additional tokens of appreciation during a recent press conference.
To help Paalam make the most out of the 599cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, inline four-cylinder engine-powered supersport bike now in his garage, coach Joey Storm Rivero of the Zero2Podium riding clinic will be training the boxer in big bike handling and track riding. With expert coaching and track time, Paalam will surely enjoy his race-ready machine—which packs 117hp and 61.7 Nm of torque—to the fullest.
Yamaha Motor Philippines also extended its congratulations to the Olympian with ARRC underbone champion and Moto2 racer McKinley Kyle Paz. Paz just came back to the Philippines after his latest run in Spain, and personally congratulated Paalam with more than just kind words and a firm handshake between two athletes.
The ‘Wonder Boy’ presented the pugilist with a customized motorcycle helmet to match his shiny new YZF-R6 in the Raven color option. We can’t wait to see where the boxer-slash-motorcycle enthusiast takes his sweet new ride first, whether on the street or out on the racetrack.
