On January 28, Ducati Philippines confirmed that the Multistrada V4 is now on Philippine soil via an unboxing ceremony led by CEO Toti Alberto. A brand-new Multistrada V4 S was unveiled, one of ten initially allotted for the Philippine market. These units are also the first to land in the Asia Pacific region.

These initial units are not yet equipped with the much-hyped front and rear radar system, though incoming units will have this feature available. In the spirit of making the Multistrada V4 the best Multistrada yet, Ducati spared no expense in making this already potent adventure machine even better. The engine gains two additional cylinders over the previous Multistrada 1260’s V2, and power has been bumped up to 170hp from 158hp despite its more compact size.

The powerplant of the Multistrada V4 is an updated unit called the ‘Granturismo V4.’ This engine has been specially tuned and designed for the bike’s adventure-touring nature. According to Ducati, this mill can go up to 60,000km between service intervals and 15,000km between oil changes.

Also new for the Multistrada is a MotoGP-derived monocoque frame, making it lighter and more agile than its predecessor at 240kg. Complementing this lighter frame are Brembo monobloc brakes, Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires, and Ducati semi-active Skyhook suspension.

Ducati has also equipped the bike with a comprehensive electronics suite, which includes a 6.5-inch TFT screen, four riding modes to fit all sorts of situations, and the world’s first motorcycle-mounted, radar-guided adaptive cruise control and blind spot detection.

The Multistrada’s full-color TFT display is as functional as it is pretty, with smartphone mirroring available through the Ducati Connect app. Once the rider has connected their phone, they can choose to put it in their pocket, or the waterproof compartment built into the tank which has a convenient USB charging port.

Of course, the new Multistrada also comes with a gamut of safety functions, including power modes, cornering ABS, Ducati traction and wheelie control, and daytime running lights. It will be available at local Ducati dealerships in the coming months, with the following prices:
