While the threat of the pandemic is still very much around, Filipinos have discovered the health safety benefits and convenience of food delivery services. During these trying times, the service of the food delivery riders is indeed immeasurable, so their sacrifices were not totally left unnoticed.
The management of Foodpanda, one of the country’s leading food delivery companies, initiated efforts to make life a bit easier for these modern-day heroes who work on a 24/7 basis.
To boost the morale of the riders, Foodpanda forged a partnership with the country’s biggest telecommunications providers Globe and Smart, and smartphone manufacturer Cherry Mobile to come up with exclusive deals to help their delivery team save on data consumption.
“Foodpanda provides us with postpaid plans. Mayroon din kaming discount sa gasoline station, tires, and many more. Ang dami!,” says Maria Nazareth Gepayo, a proud Foodpanda rider.
Unlike other food delivery services, Foodpanda riders were never required to shoulder the expenses resulting from order cancellations and no-show customers.
Aside from observing strict health protocols, their riders are provided with weather gear to ensure unhampered deliver even during rainy days.
“Complete gear! And the most important [gear] para sa akin, na nakakatulong lalo’t ang panahon ay weather-weather lang, is yung poncho. Besides that, merong thermal bag (small for drinks and milk tea, etc.), at big box bag for bulk orders,” shares Stefhaniel Ong, who has been riding with Foodpanda for more than a year now.
Lastly, to make sure that their riders really have good vibes, Foodpanda has their insurance covered through a partnership with insurance company Manulife and Cebuana Lhuillier. For rider Jemar Villocillo, the free accident insurance given to their team is the most important, knowing that motorcyclists are more susceptible to injury when involved in road mishaps than any other motorist.
Well, this explains why the community of Foodpanda riders is growing tremendously. Are you ready to join their ranks soon?
