The reimplementation of enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, and Rizal (a.k.a. Greater Manila) until April 4 has once again made getting around more complicated.
Malls have modified their operating hours and the Department of Transportation has updated its guidelines on public transport, on top of other restrictions like the closure of driving schools and ban on leisure travel.
The return of ECQ, though, hasn’t stopped Grab and Foodpanda delivery service from making life easier for the locked-down public:
Grab
In a statement, the ride-hailing company confirmed, “Transport and delivery services remain operational in and outside of NCR. As our delivery and driver partners comply on added protocols in place with the new IATF GCQ guidelines, we ask for your patience as some delays may occur.”
Grab also encouraged patrons to limit physical contact with its delivery partners via contactless delivery and takeaway. You can also tell the rider/driver where to drop off the food or order using GrabChat.
Foodpanda
The online food delivery platform has ventured into groceries in the Philippines with Pandamart. Customers can have their snacks, baby supplies, cosmetics, and alcohol from partner shops brought right to their doorstep.
Just like Grab, Foodpanda is also promoting contactless delivery, which can be selected upon checkout, and the Rider-Customer Chat:
- Make sure you are using online payment
- Place an order
- Go to your order and tap on ‘Contact your rider’
- Request your rider to leave your food at the door
