In contrast to the recently launched Revolution Max engine-powered Sportster S, Harley-Davidson has rolled out something significantly less rumbly and high-octane: the Serial 1 line of electric bicycles. Unlike the performance-focused LiveWire, Serial 1’s electrified two wheelers are intended for commuting and city use.
Harley-Davidson Serial 1’s lineup currently consists of four models, all of which are powered by a Brose electric motor capable of 90Nm of torque. Mated to the motor is a quiet, maintenance-free Gates carbon belt drive. Also shared between the four is full LED lighting, four ride modes, and walk-assist functionality.
The entry level option in the roster is the MOSH/CTY. A 32kph top speed can be obtained with the bike’s 250kW motor and single-speed transmission. The removable 529Wh battery can net up to 56-169km of range depending on ride mode, terrain, and how much pedal power the rider supplies.
The step up is the RUSH/CTY, which receives an Enviolo AUTOMATiQ CVT gearbox, four-piston disc brakes, lockable storage, integrated fenders, and luggage racks. A bigger 706Wh battery provides up to 40-185km of range.
Carrying much of the same features of the previous model is the RUSH/CTY STEP-THRU, which as the name implies, utilizes a step-through frame. It uses the same 529Wh battery as the MOSH/CTY, granting it similar range.
Lastly, the RUSH/CTY SPEED takes the RUSH/CTY’s componentry and adds a higher-spec Brose TF Mag motor that boosts top speed to 45kph. This premium model also receives a Brose LCD color screen.
Pricing for these cycles starts at $3,799 or about P191,000 for the MOSH/CTY, $4,999 or around P252,000 for the RUSH/CTY and RUSH/CTY STEP-THRU, and finally $5,599 or approximately P282,000 for the RUSH/CTY SPEED.
At the moment, Serial 1 bicycles are only offered in Europe and North America. Would you like to see these pedal-powered rides in local Harley-Davidson dealerships?
