A year ago, Ayala-owned Adventure Cycle Philippines (ACPI) announced its plan to manufacture Husqvarna motorbikes at its Laguna plant. In August, the upcoming models were revealed to be the Svartpilen 401, 200, and the Vitpilen 401. Now, these locally produced units have started arriving at Husqvarna’s dealerships.
“They are all PH-made. Dealers are taking deliveries of the Husqvarnas as we speak—200s and 401s. They were all made during the GCQ [general community quarantine] and MECQ [modified enhanced community quarantine],” explains ACPI president Dino Santos.
The Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 share the same 373cc engine as the KTM 390 Duke and RC 390, which are also produced in Ayala’s Laguna facility. The same goes for the Svartpilen 200, which has the same 199.5cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill as the KTM 200 and RC 200.
While the initial batch of 10 Huskies was almost sold out in less than 24 hours, sales personnel at the Bonifacio Global City showroom said they are still accepting reservations for the three models as fresh stocks are expected to arrive soon.
Here are their standard retail prices:
- Husqvarna Svartpilen 200 – P175,000
- Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 – P295,000
- Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 – P315,000
