Under the new project, around 30 workers will benefit from the bicycle donation of international relief organization Samaritan’s Purse. Each biker will also receive P3,000 worth of Foodpanda rider gear, which consists of uniforms, a thermal box, a thermal bag, and a panda mask.
The next batch of pandaBIZikleta beneficiares will be granted affordable bicycle installment plans and Foodpanda kit discounts.
Manila mayor Isko Moreno and Foodpanda Philippines managing director Dan Marogy signed a memorandum of agreement for the partnership. According to the latter: “Manila has always been special to Foodpanda. We are a proud partner and we are grateful to Mayor Isko Moreno for working with us once again to contribute to its economic recovery programs for the benefit of Manilenos.”
For his part, Moreno urged riders to get vaccinated as economic frontliners part of the A4 priority group.
The Manila Public Employment Service Office (PESO), which was also in charge of the pandaTODA tricycle driver assistance program, will administer pandaBIZikleta.
“Lubos po ang pagpapasalamat namin sa pamunuan ng Foodpanda PH sa patuloy na pakikipag-tulungan sa Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Maynila sa adhikain nitong magbigay oportunidad sa ating mga Manileño na naghahanap ng trabaho,” PESO-Manila director Fernan Bermejo said.
“Naging matagumpay ang PandaTODA sa Lungsod ng Maynila kaya kami po sa PESO-Manila ay naniniwala na itong PandaBIZikleta ay magiging matagumpay din.”
In related Foodpanda news, the online food delivery service will crown the ‘Ultimate Bida Ka-Panda Rider’ for its seventh birthday. The company will recognize talented and personable riders, as well as their efforts to satisfy the customer.
