‘The Wonderboy’ McKinley Kyle Paz is now in the home stretch of his maiden FIM CEV Repsol MOTO2 European Championship racing campaign. The 20 year-old racer has just completed Round 6 of the 2021 Moto2 season, which was held at Circuito de Jerez in Cadiz, Spain.
Paz (No. 32) started out in P12 for Race 1. Things were looking promising as he was keeping pace with the other riders on the track. But due to the sweltering hot weather condition and a bit of uncertainty on the front tire of his Kalex-powered machine, the Filipino racer wasn’t able to finish. Thankfully, there were no major incidents and Paz came back to the pits safe and sound.
In Race 2, the Yamaha racer was able to regain confidence on the bike despite the heat and discomfort. Paz once again started at P12. Despite fierce displays of racing skill and experience from his competitors, he ran consistently over 17 laps and finished in P13, which currently placed him at 16th out of 28 racers in the current riders’ standings.
The next and final race of the season will go down at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. The Wonderboy will shift his focus towards performing well at Round 7 in November, and he is hoping for the continued support of his fans back home in the Philippines.
