Royal Enfield just launched its latest effort in the cruiser segment, the new Meteor 350.
The easy thoroughbred bike, Royal Enfield says, can more than handle the rigors of both long rides and daily commutes. It runs on a 349cc SOHC air-oil cooled single-cylinder engine. Meanwhile. A stronger, stiffer, and more durable chassis setup allows for stable and comfortable cornering and maneuvering. The classic cruiser also comes with the Tripper navigation system, a first for the Indian company, made possible by Google Maps and the Royal Enfield app.
Siddhartha Lal, Eicher Motors managing director, explains how this particular motorcycle style is close to his heart: “Growing up in the 1980s meant that the lasting image of a motorcycle for me was a cruiser of some sort. It’s not that I was a ‘cruiser guy,’ it’s just that when you see lots of something, that becomes the main frame of reference, and desire in this case!
“Evolving from a diet of bicycles into my late teens, I was quite mesmerized by the idea of a quintessential American-style cruiser—and the first one that I actually saw in the flesh and instantly fell in love with was the Royal Enfield Citybike.”
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will be available in Supernova Blue, Supernova Brown, Stellar Red, Stellar Blue, Stellar Black, Fireball Red, and Fireball Yellow. It is also part of the brand’s Make It Yours personalization initiative.
