Less than two years after being designated as the official distributor of Triumph in the Philippines, Autohub Group president Willy Tee Ten and his team were commended by the British manufacturer for their exemplary sales performance despite the pandemic.
“Herewith on behalf of Triumph I would like to congratulate you and your team for the great sales result of 341 retails in your market that has been realized in our FY21,” says Cees de Rooij, head of export sales of Triumph Motorcycles, in his letter to Tee Ten.
“At this moment we continue to collectively benefit from the strong demand. The uncertainties of the long-lasting impact on the economies remain and the challenges in the supply chain have far from been overcome,” adds Rooij.
The Triumph official added that the export sales of his company’s motorcycles grew by as much as 40%, outperforming the sales record from 2018, making his company “the second-fastest growing brand internationally.”
Of course, Tee Ten feels elated over the TML’s commendation. This development, he said, further strengthened his claims that Triumph motorbikes are ‘pandemic-proof.’
It was in November 2019 when Triumph formally designated the Autohub Group as its official distributor in the country, ending Tee Ten’s more than five years of courtship with the main office to get the brand. Presently, the Group has three motorcycle brands under its wings—Triumph, Vespa, and UM.
