Typhoon Ulysses caught parts of Luzon off-guard on Wednesday night with strong winds, floods, and rising water levels comparable to 2009’s Typhoon Ondoy.
While the storm has moved away from the landmass of Luzon as of this writing, it has still left many roads in Metro Manila submerged, thousands of people stranded, and countless vehicles in danger of getting flood-damaged.
Fortunately, several establishments have opened their doors to those affected by the typhoon, offering temporary shelter, free parking, and other forms of relief:
Robinsons Malls
Robinsons welcomed distressed individuals to its Metro Manila, North Luzon, and South Luzon malls as early as Wednesday. It has also waived overnight parking fees, provided WiFi and charging stations for cellphones, gadgets, and rechargeable lamps.
Ayala Malls
Ayala Malls had to close down its Feliz, Marikina, Cloverleaf, Harbor Point, and Marquee outlets earlier today due to the extreme weather. The rest of its establishments, though, are open to customers for shelter and free overnight parking in severely affected areas.
SM Supermalls
SM has put up command centers, charging posts, and first-aid stations in its establishments for stranded and nearby residents. Aside from waiving overnight parking charges on Wednesday and today, it is also providing food and support for affected individuals.
