Motorcycles have proven to be a ‘pandemic-proof’ commodity in the Philippines. Two-wheelers continue to enjoy brisk sales amid the health crisis that caused serious setbacks in many local industries.
In fact, the demand for premium scooters has not subsided in the past months. This is the very reason why Moto Italia Philippines has unleashed the 2020 Vespa GTS and Sprint ‘Racing Sixties’ edition that relive an exhilarating era of speed and elegance in motorsports. No slowing down for this iconic Italian brand.
Dubbed as the “grittiest models in the Vespa range,” these special variants are offered in two sporty color schemes: Green Bosco (with yellow racing stripes) and White Innocenza (with red racing stripes).
To further highlight their sportiness, these two come with new seat designs, gold-painted wheels, and black matte detailing on the handlebar and footpegs.
The velvety nubuck leather seat is coated in PVC as added protection not only against the harsh weather, but the consistent cleaning with alcohol and other sanitizers to prevent virus infection.
The Vespa GTS Racing Sixties edition retains its Piaggio 278.3cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that is Euro 5 compliant. This powerful mill generates 23.4hp at 8,250 rpm and 26Nm at 5,250 rpm.
The Sprint is powered by an air-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 3-valve i-Get engine that produces 12.7hp at 7,750 rpm and 12.8Nm at 6,500 rpm.
Of course, the GTS gets a bigger 8.5L fuel tank compared to the Sprint’s 7.0L fuel storage. Also, only the GTS comes with a dual-channel ABS.
Both variants come with free original Vespa windscreen as a standard feature.
Here’s the catch: Moto Italia said the Vespa Racing Sixties variants come with a color-coded top box, crash guard, and rear carrier that were installed on discounted prices.
The Vespa GTS and Sprint Racing Sixties edition are priced at P428,000 and P253,000, respectively. Are you ready to ride down memory lane?
