Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) has partnered with humanitarian organization Care Philippines to help displaced residents in the Bicol region.
The region was recently hit by a series of typhoons. Care deployed its staff to the area 72 hours after the last cyclone hit to conduct a rapid assessment and to determine the immediate needs of the affected communities. YMPH’s employees pooled together their resources for this effort, passing the hat around for cash donations.
Meanwhile, YMPH management decided to donate motorcycles and power generators to help residents deal with power interruptions and transportation shortage. The initial relief effort was able to reach 72 displaced families, providing them with food and other basic items.
Living up to Yamaha’s brand slogan ‘Revs your Heart,’ YMPH management doubled every P100 donation from its employees, bringing the total to P826,800. A commendable effort indeed.
